The George E. Ley Co. was founded in 1969 by George E. Ley, Jr. At that time, construction of its first golf course was started and finished, providing management for the complete project, including an automatic irrigation system. In 1990, George E. Ley III became president and the company has grown many times its original size. George E. Ley Mission Statement
During their 33 years of service, the company has completed both public and private projects in the golf course industry. Some of the 10 highest rated courses such as Merion, Homestead Cascade Course, Ridgewood, Saucon Valley, Philadelphia Country Club and Metedeconk National Golf Club are among the names the company has serviced with irrigation systems, pump stations and golf course construction/renovation projects. In 1991, Eastern Irrigation & Pump Co. was added as a division to provide pump station installation and complete irrigation service. Today, the George E. Ley Co. employs nearly 100 people and is a leader for servicing the golf course industry in the tri-state region.
